The COBPAR system was designed to capture HIV response activities that take place at the community level. This Community Based HIV Programme Activity Reporting (COBPAR) sub-system that was developed in 2005, has undergone various updating over time to respond to the changing HIV response strategic landscape brought about by various HIV strategic plans. The most recent update was the process of integrating COPBAR to the DHIS-2 which was informed by the Kenya AIDS Strategic Framework (KASF) and devolved governance in Kenya.
The process of integrating COBPAR to DHIS is almost complete. It will mark a milestone where COBPAR will now be available in DHIS platform making it more accessible to both the data generators and users. The integration process has and will not affect the data entry within the COBPAR system. The data entry clerks have continued to receive reports and subsequently enter community related HIV data into the COBPAR system. The integration process is expected to be completed by June 2016 after which the COBPAR system and the resultant data will be migrated fully into DHIS platform.
